This week we held our second online employers event since entering lockdown. As I'm sure you can imagine, the shift to organising and holding workshops and events virtually has been quite a learning curve for us but despite our nerves we were really pleased with how they have been going.

This event, which was held on Tuesday, was aimed at employers in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire and was attended by our Carer Positive employers Tom Arthur MSP, Renfrewshire Council and East Renfrewshire Council, as well as other employers from the area. The discussions touched upon how Covid-19 has affected the workforce with the steep increase in the number of cares and the importance of employers supporting working carers, both now and also to help futureproof their organisations.

It was great to see so many people engaged in supporting carers in the workplace at the event and felt that there was some really valuable discussions happening by the end, with attendees from different organisations offering their experiences and advice. Many thanks again to everyone who attended and took part!

It was also the perfect opportunity to virtually present East Renfrewshire Council with their Carer Positive certificate since they attained the award late last year, as we always want to take a moment to appreciate supportive employers for their hard work.

We're looking forward to holding more of these smaller, targeted virtual events as they seem to be working really well. If you are interested in getting involved or attending one of these workshops, please get in touch by emailing info@carerpositive.org  and we can look into holding one aimed at your industry sector or geographic location.
