West Lothian College become an Accredited Employer

We are delighted to announce that West Lothian College are now a Carer Positive awarded employer. 

Sue presented their certificate on Thursday 24th August after they met the criteria to become an Engaged level Carer Positive employer.

The college principal, Jackie Galbraith, commented

"West Lothian College wants to make work better for all of our employees and I am delighted we have been recognised for how we support staff who have caring responsibilities. Achieving the Carer Positive award so soon after being acknowledged as a Disability Confident Leader shows how committed we are to supporting people who work for us.”

The process of achieveing the award was spearheaded by Suzanne Rankin, HR Business Partner at the college and HR Assistant, Amy Lamont. Suzanne said

"We support staff who have caring responsibilities in a number of ways, for example through our Flexible Working Policy and Maternity and Family Leave Policy. We also offer support through our Employee Assistance Programme and our Health and Wellbeing service.

We are extremely proud to be holding the Carer Positive award at the Engaged level and are now working towards achieving the Established award."
