Carer Positive is a project run by Carers Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government so our work is closely linked with theirs. Cares Scotland are able to provide up to date advice and support for carers living in Scotland.
Carers UK
Carer Positive and Carers Scotland both belong to the larger organisation Carers UK. The Carers UK website provides a huge amount of information on caring and becoming a member with them will also give you access to resources such as care guides and the Carers UK forums.
Employers for Carers
A similar scheme to Carer Positive for organisations in England and Wales. Their Carer Confident benchmarking scheme is a paid-for service that helps employers in England and Wales support carers in the workplace.

Up to date information on the Scottish Government’s Social Care policy.
Working Families
Promoting work life balance for parents and carers. This site offers extensive resources for employers and an award programme which includes ‘Best for Carers’ and ‘Eldercare’ awards.
ACAS
Free and impartial advice on workplace rights, rules and best practice. They have produced a number of good practice guides on handling requests to work flexibly.
Healthy Working Lives
Working with employers in Scotland to offer free practical information and advice to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone at work. Their awards programme includes consideration of support provided for carers in alignment with Carer Positive award levels.

Scotland’s national campaign to end the stigma and discrimination against mental ill-health. Many organisations across Scotland have signed a public “see me” pledge and developed an action plan to tackle these issues in the workplace.
The Open University - Caring Counts
The Open University have developed this free online course to support carers to reflect on their caring journey and identify skills and abilities they have gained and continue to gain in their caring role.

A free online course to help managers and policy makers develop a clearer understanding of the issues faced by working carers. It aims to recognise and highlight the highly transferrable skills that people develop in a caring role, which can enhance their employability and value within the workforce.
Age Scotland
The national charity for older people, Age Scotland provide information and advice aimed at people over 50, an age group often affected by caring. They also offer Age Inclusion workshops for managers.
