Weekly Update: Carer Positive in 2021

Jan 8, 2021

Happy New Year from all of us at Carer Positive, we hope you all had a great festive period. The beginning of January is all about resolutions and we hope that working to support carers in the workplace is on your list this year!

We may have got to the end of 2020 but the world of work and working is still changing and uncertain for employers in Scotland. Please remember that the Carer Positive Team are here for you and can provide advice, resources and support on all aspects of creating workplace support for members of staff with caring responsibilities. The best way to contact us right now is by email but we are always happy to arrange phone or video calls to have a chat in more depth.

Despite the continuing restrictions throughout the country, we feel optimistic for 2021 and are keen to see the new ways of working that emerge throughout the year. We already have some events planned and hope to see you all soon, even if it is still online only for the time being!

New Flexibility Works Employer Awards

Flexible styles of working can be a huge benefit to working carers so this is an approach that we often suggest here at Carer Positive, and encourage our employers to utilise resources from Flexibility Works and other organisations promoting flexible working styles.

Flexibility Works have now opened applications for their 2021 Employer Awards, which aim to recognise Scotland’s top flexible employers. These are a great opportunity for some of our Carer Positive Employers promote your organisation as a top Scottish employer, as well as making a strong statement about the value of flexible working and how it can benefit different members of staff. Find out more and apply here on the Flexibility Works website. We are excited to see the shortlist and winners when they are announced on 25th March.
