Weekly Update: Awards in East Renfrewshire

We are pleased to announce that two more Carer Positive awards were presented this week.

East Renfrewshire Carers Centre joined the Carer Positive scheme, and achieving our Engaged status. As a carers Centre, there is a clear commitment of supporting carers as the organisation’s core purpose, however it is also extremely valuable that they have worked to ensure that carers are also supported within their own staff.

Despite becoming Carer Positive less than a year ago, East Renfrewshire Council also received an award this week, becoming an Established level employer. There is clearly a well developed culture of support for carers within the council and they have been working closely together with East Renfrewshire Carers Center to strengthen links within their community.

Congratulations to each of these organisations for their hard work in creating supportive working environments for staff with caring responsibilities. Both organisations were also involved in our online workshop for employers in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire in August, so we hope to see more organisations from these areas becoming Carer Positive in the near future.
