Royal London recognised as an Exemplary employer

Jun 26, 2026

Carers Scotland today announces that Royal London has been awarded the Carer Positive Exemplary accreditation. The highest level of recognition within the Carer Positive scheme, the award acknowledges the exceptional support it provides to employees who are unpaid carers across its workforce.

The Carer Positive programme, managed by Carers Scotland, recognises employers who actively support staff with caring responsibilities. Following a detailed assessment of Royal London’s application and supporting evidence, Carers Scotland commended the organisation.

Hayley Burton, Senior Employment Manager at Carers Scotland, said:

“Royal London’s submission demonstrated a highly developed, thoughtful and genuinely impactful approach to supporting colleagues with caring responsibilities. The clarity, care and depth of evidence clearly showed a strong and ongoing commitment to carers.

The breadth of activity across all five Exemplary criteria from robust systems for identifying carers and a comprehensive, generous Carers Policy, to innovative partnerships, strong peer networks and clear communication is particularly impressive.

This work reflects compassion, innovation and organisational leadership, fully aligned to Carer Positive values.  I am delighted to award Royal London with the Carer Positive Exemplary accreditation.”

Tracey Kneller, Group Chief People Officer at Royal London said:

“The Carer Positive scheme plays a vital role in recognising employers who are committed to supporting colleagues with caring responsibilities. This accreditation reflects our belief that creating an inclusive and supportive workplace isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s an essential part of running an innovative and forward-looking business. At Royal London we are proud to play our part in raising awareness of the important contribution carers make across society.”
